Horror Film Analysis - creep
creep is a horror/thriller. it is about a women who gets stuck in the underground one night, where she is being pursued by a potential attacker heads into the unknown labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city's streets.
Creep is filmed in the underground, this would be difficult to film in the same way as the film as she was alone in the underground and if we were to film there it would be very difficult to make it seem as though the person was alone as the would be members of the public all around us.
In creep the killer is made to look very thin and pale with scars on his face, we could achieve this with makeup to make the killer look scarier. there is not allot of dialogue in the film and is all about the main character trying to get away, she is by herself allot in the film and so most of the sound is noises coming from the underground and noises of the killer, this builds suspense as you know something is going on but you just cant see it, this would be good to use in out horror film as it puts the audience on the edge of their seats.
as we are thinking of doing a film in an isolated location we could use the idea of there not being allot of dialogue and most of the sounds added in or in the surrounding. this film also has the effect of a handheld camera, such as when the girl is running, this makes it feel as though you are running with her and outs the audience in her shoes.
the film also uses long takes and close ups, this builds suspence while showing how the characters are feeling.
there are pans in the film to show the setting and this shows the audience how alone she is, we could use this in our horror film.
